The original wild west water park in Wilderness opened in 2003. It consisted of having an originally play structure with 4 slides.
Originally Wild west had 4 body slides known as Bronc Buster. However 2 of the slides facing center were closed off and never was in use again. It also used to have a raft slide known as the wilderness express.
Both Attractions listed above were closed in 2022 as part of renovation that were replaced by newer slides.
There were several slides that used to be located where the expanded parking lot is now.
The slides were closed around 2019 and were dismantled since then.
The Kalahari Resort announced that their indoor water park will receive an expansion to include new slides and pools in the area.
The area is expected to open in fall 2026.
